On June 12th I will be taking part in the Bresnan Bike Tour. This is a three day, 200-mile fundraiser–bicycle tour from New York to Vermont that benefits Special Olympics New York Hudson Valley Region and Westchester Arc.
As a rider I am attempting to meet the required donation amount. My aim was to use the many corporate contacts that have stood me in good stead in the past. However, the economy seems to be hitting everyone hard. As a result I am appealing to anyone to donate any amount they can afford, however small, in an attempt to get as close as possible to the $2000 contribution amount.
The tax-deductible pledges equally support two non-profit organizations serving children and adults with intellectual disabilities: Westchester Arc Foundation and Special Olympics New York-Hudson Valley Region. The sponsorship provided by Bresnan Communications and fellow sponsors allows 100 percent of all pledges to directly support the beneficiary organizations.
Donating is simple:
Go to http://www.bresnanbiketour2009.kintera.org/dpapworth to enter my riders page. (it ain’t a pretty page I know, but its safe & secure)
Scroll down to the where you enter the donation amount. Enter your amount, hit continue and follow any instructions from there.
Thanks to those of you who have contributed already and thanks in advance for any further contributions

So I bought myself some new wheels for the bike ride I am doing on June 12th – 14th. I signed myself up to do a 3 day, 200 mile bike ride between New York & Vermont that benefits Special Olympics New York Hudson Valley Region and Westchester Arc. I was gonna try and do it on my mountain bike but decided to go all in and get myself a proper road bike and hopefully help me get through this one.
Right now I am still looking to make my target of $2000 so anybody who wants to contribute can do so here. Any donations, large or small are appreciated

So after years of back and forth and a seeming constant need to send in more documents, get medicals and have biometrics taken, my Green Card finally arrived the othe day in a small unassuming envelope. What does this mean for me? I no longer have to be tied to a company to stay in the U.S. I am free to work, or not work, where ever I desire and not have the pressure of being thrown out hanging over me…at least for the next 10 years. To be honest after waiting so long I was assuming that I may be waiting still longer but with no forewarning, other than a further demand for documents, the card arrives. As a result I am kind of unprepared for this new found freedom. I am sure it will sink in soon and who really knows where this takes me from there.
